Apple said to be working on HD audio playback for iOS 8, in-ear headphones and more

A report out of Japan says that Apple is working on HD audio playback for iOS 8. This dovetails with speculation that Apple will introduce HD iTunes playback at WWDC next month. It also happens to coincide with talk that Apple will be offering in-ear headphones and a new Lightning cable. The earphones have not been updated since 2008, and still can be bought at any Apple Store for $79. The rumored acquisition of Beats Audio is merely a coincidence here, since Apple's main target is the streaming music service, Beats Music.
