You might have noticed a few new changes to Bing Maps. For example, the gradient coloring for land areas now changes depending on your zoom level. When you are zoomed out, land areas will be lighter. They get darker when you zoom in. This way, streets become easier to see with the greater contrast. Microsoft has also changed the icons for local landmarks. Instead of using global icons, local ones are used instead. This way, no matter where you live, you can understand what landmarks you are near.
