A 4.7" iPhone 6 is expected to go official in August, and shortly afterwards, a 5.5" Apple phablet is said to be in the cards. The new iPhone 6 will allegedly have a screen with a resolution of 960x1704 pixels, which is much higher than the current 1136 x 640 pixels on the iPhone 5s, but the screen is quite larger, too. Apple might be going for tripling the original iPhone resolution, but preserving the 16:9 aspect ratio that came with the iPhone 5. This triple scaling should allow an easier transition for developers, making it easier for them to update their applications.
