Villy Recommends the Best Areas and Hotels Based on Travel Preferences

Thinking of visiting a new city sometime soon? Villy wants to simplify the hotel-hunting process by recommending the best neighborhoods and hotels, according to your interests.

Currently, the site covres ten major cities: Bangkok, Barcelona, Berlin, London, Miami, New York, Paris, Rome, San Francisco, and Seoul, with Amsterdam and Tokyo coming soon.

To use Villy, just select the things you'd like to do during your trip (shop, sightsee, visit bars and pubs, eat at top restaurants, etc.), your hotel budget, and who's going (just you, you and your partner, a family, or a group of friends).

Villy then parses that information to offer personalized neighborhood recommendations, as well as hotels with their Trip Advisor ratings.

You book a hotel through Expedia, Villy's hotel partner, or you can change your preferences and dates to explore other neighborhoods.

I tried it for New York, since I'm familiar with the city, and found that the recommendations were appropriate for different scenarios I tried. Sometimes the site recommended hotels a little outside the budget range I set, but other than that, Villy could be a great time saver for your next trip, seeing as travelers visit 38 sites on average before booking a vacation, according to Expedia. Hopefully they'll add more cities quickly to make it even more useful.
