This is the poster for the new Toy Story half-hour television special that will air on ABC on December 2. The title: Toy Story That Time Forgot. It will feature the voices of Tom Hanks ad Tim Allen. More importantly, it's directed by Steve Purcell, the creator of the legendary Sam & Max.
If it's Steve Purcell, I've no doubt it's going to be great. The short will also feature the voices of Kevin McKidd, Wallace Shawn, Timothy Dalton, Don Rickles, and Joan Cusack.
In case you haven't been following its genesis—the special was announced at San Diego Comic Con this year—this is the plot according to Entertainment Weekly:
After a post-Christmas play date, the Toy Story gang finds themselves in uncharted territory when the coolest set of action figures ever turn out to be dangerously delusional. If the gang hopes to return to Bonnie's room, they'll have to rely on Trixie the triceratops (Kristen Schaal).
As Pixar Post points out, the short will feature a tribe of delusional Battlesaurs that were previously shown in a commercial—also directed by Steve Purcell—for the British cable company Sky:
