Adults Who Live in Treehouses Aren't as Weird as You Might Think

Before I was born, my mom lived in a treehouse in the Smoky Mountains and had a pet goat with one ear. His name was Van Goat. This was the late 70s, and even then, it was a unique lifestyle. But my how treehouse culture has evolved.

The Atlantic just offered a glimpse into the lives of adults who live in treehouses and, perhaps more interestingly, the burgeoning industry of treehouse hospitality. (Did you know that there's a treehouse resort in Oregon? It's called a "treesort".) These folks are pretty normal people who just want a little bit of peace and quiet. Their treehouses are remarkably modern, too. You can even rent one on Airbnb.

Come to think of it, I might just do that for my next vacation and just call it a family tradition. [The Atlantic Video]
