Annoyed that Black Friday kicks off on Thanksgiving? Start time is really more like the Wednesday before... or November 1st.
Last week we gave you some easy but essential tips to prepare to get the most out of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and today we're letting you know when to really start paying attention.
When we refer to "Black Friday", we're really talking about the period from a couple days before Black Friday until the day after Cyber Monday. We're focused on the few best deals, not the overarching trends of the retail industry, and bringing those deals to you from the comfort of your home.
Last year, the time to really dig in and start clicking the buy button was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, well before the new trend of brick and mortar stores reopening with doorbusters in the middle of Thanksgiving that draws so much ire. Online retailers don't just price match their physical counterparts, they put the same deals up ahead of time.
However, there's no question that November 1st marks a huge general change in retail, with retailers jumping the gun on their own Black Friday prices or pre-empting the "leaked" deals of their competitors. We've already seen "Black Friday prices" on items like the 2DS and Roku Streaming Stick come and go long before the holiday shopping chaos.
