People don't watch porn as much as usual on Christmas Eve. Whether it's the extended family time, too much eggnog, extremely close proximity with the people who raised you, or a lingering fear of Santa's judgmental and unblinking eye, PornHub experiences a 43% drop in traffic on the night before Christmas.
That doesn't mean the holidays are hostile to stoking the yule log. Au CONTRAIRE, my little elf. Those who do indulge like to get thematic and, perhaps, creepier than usual. Plus, in Arizona and Kentucky, viewership only drops 13%, meaning not even awkward gift exchanges or Netflix-based intra-family squabbles can substantially curb appetites for digital skin flicks.
PornHub looked at how Christmas impacts visits to the site, and while both Christmas Eve and Christmas bring in less traffic than usual, people search for all kinds of holiday related content.
"Christmas" is the most popular Christmas-themed search (considering the blood has generally rushed elsewhere while these queries are entered, the lack of creativity isn't shocking).
PornHub also tracked which searches became more popular at Christmas time. "Naughty Santa's Helper" tops that chart, which is whatever. More surprising, and waaaay more disturbing for anyone spending the holidays with in-laws, are some of the other searches that escalate in popularity:
"It would appear that while the holidays are a time of year that bring extended family members together, these interactions inspire searches for relevantly themed porn as well. Searches like 'brother and step sister' and 'mother in law with son' increase 546% and 288% respectively at Christmas time. That's certainly one way to bring non-blood relatives together!"
