Wear your 'hood on your sleeve with these custom-printed garments

Monochome custom skirt

Putting a map on clothing is nothing new -- chances are you've seen a famous locale printed onto all manner of items in souvenir stores. However, if you happen to live in a small town or a quiet suburb on the outskirts of a city, it's unlikely you'll find your neighborhood adorning a t-shirt. Enter Monochōme, a bespoke clothing service that lets you print your 'hood onto a t-shirt, tank top or skirt.

Monochōme utilizes data from OpenStreetMap (OSM), a non-profit mapping service, allowing you to select almost anywhere in the world for your print. OSM isn't always as accurate as commercial competitors like Google Maps -- finding the various places I've lived in London first-time worked about half the time -- but once you've found the general location you'll be able to pan and zoom the map to frame your selected area. You can choose from either a simple white-on-black street map, or, if you live in a supported area, you can pull in OSM's structural data to show just the buildings in the vicinity. Prices start from $45, and delivery apparently takes between 2 - 4 weeks.
