Ever since it launched two new Apple iPhone models last year with larger screens, the company has been grabbing market share in Asia. In South Korea, home to rival Samsung, Apple claimed 33% of the smartphone market in that country by November, more than double the 15% slice of the pie it had before the Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus were released. The data comes from a new report released today by Counterpoint Research. Samsung, which used to control about 60% of the smartphone market in its backyard, now owns just 46%, and LG is third with a 14% share.
