Apple shuts down iOS 8 jailbreak: iOS 8.1.2 is no longer signed

* The endless game of throw and catch between developers and Apple continues as the company has now stopped signing the iOS 8.1.2 firmware, effectively closing the option to jailbreak the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and all other iOS devices running iOS 8.x.



For those of you who are not following jailbreaking affairs, we should clarify that ‘signing’ a version of iOS is basically a method Apple uses to say that a particular version is up to date. Imagine this being a sort of an expiration date - once Apple stops signing a version, as it has with iOS 8.1.2, that puts an ‘expired’ tag on it.
