Fans of The Hunger Games series can now purchase The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 from the iTunes Store. The digital release comes more than two weeks before the movie's March 6 release on DVD and Blu-ray. Anyone who pre-ordered the movie should find it available to watch in their library on the Mac, iOS device, or Apple TV.
Mockingjay - Part 1 is the third of four planned Hunger Games films, all based on the book series by author Suzanne Collins. While the first two movies and novels followed Katniss Everdeen as she became a competitor in the deadly Hunger Games, Mockingjay sees Katniss become full-fledged revolutionary, fighting against the tyrannical Capital.
In addition to the movie itself, there are a number of iTunes Extras included in the HD release of Mockingjay, including behind the scenes documentaries, deleted scenes, and director's commentary.
