By performing the steps below, your Apple Watch will not consistently monitor your heart rate during walking and running workouts. It will continue to monitor heart rate on a constant basis during any other kind of workout. And if you ever decide you want more frequent heart rate data during a specific run or walk, you can always re-enable the setting on the fly whenever you'd like.

How to conserve on Apple Watch battery life during workouts

  1. Launch the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on Workout.
  3. Turn On the option for Power Saving Mode.
