Chlorine leak injures five at Apple data center in North Carolina

A chlorine leak at a North Carolina Apple data center has injured five people.

Apple's data center in Maiden, North Carolina was the subject of a chlorine leak today that injured five people. The cause of the leak, which was reported around 2:30 p.m. EDT, has not yet been established

Five people were injured in a chlorine leak at the Apple data center in Maiden on Monday, according to dispatchers with Catawba Fire and Rescue.

Apple has been operating the facility since 2010. The massive facility stands as one of the largest data centers in the world at over 500,000 square feet.

This is the second incident at an Apple facility in recent times, with solar panels atop Apple's Mesa, Arizona facility catching fire just last week.
