
T-Mobile and Sprint have been asking the FCC to hold aside additional spectrum for small carriers participating in next year's auction of low frequency bandwidth. While the FCC has set aside 30MHz of spectrum in each market for regional carriers, that is not enough for T-Mobile and Sprint. Both are concerned that Verizon and AT&T will be able to increase their holdings of low frequency spectrum in the auction. As a result, the pair has asked the FCC to hold aside an additional 10MHz of bandwidth for regional operators.
