You may have already seen Engadget posting reviews from our friends at The Wirecutter. Now, from time to time, we'll also be publishing their recommended deals on some of their top picks. Read on, and strike while the iron is hot -- some of these sales could expire mighty soon.
MeFoto Roadtrip Travel Tripod
Street Price: $180; MSRP: $200; Deal Price: $149
The best price we've seen on this tripod, but as of this posting, it's only available on the blue color. Blue tends to stay around $200, though it does dip to $180 from time to time, with other colors being more consistently in the $180 range.
The MeFoto Roadtrip Travel Tripod is our pick for the best travel tripod. Erin Lodi wrote, "This tripod is lighter and can collapse smaller than most of the competition while still maintaining a load capability on par with a full-sized tripod. Thanks to its usability, height, compact and lightweight design, low price, availability, and manufacturer's reputation, it's the way to go for anyone who wants a tripod they can take with them everywhere."
Apple MacBook Pro 13-Inch with Retina Display
Street Price: $1,500; MSRP: $1,500; Deal Price: $1,250
Here's a rare sale on our recommended configuration of the 13-inch MacBook Pro. We see sales on the 15-inch models fairly often, but it's been ages since we've seen a deal on the 13-inch model. You'll save $250 off the street price from seller Electronics Valley on eBay, which is the lowest price we've seen on this model.
The MacBook Pro 13-Inch with Retina Display is the more powerful pick in our guide on the best laptop. Brian Lam, Nathan Edwards and Dan Frakes wrote, "If you need a Retina display, a faster processor, and a little more graphical oomph—and you're willing to accept a slight price premium and half a pound more weight—the new 13-inch Macbook Pro is a great alternative to the Air."
Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Mouse 3600
Street Price: $30; MSRP: $30; Deal Price: $20
This $20 sale matches the best price we've seen on this mouse. We've only been tracking it the past couple months but we saw a similar dip at the start of December, hitting the $20 mark for a couple days. It tends to stay at the $30 MSRP. This deal is currently only available in two colors: blue and red.
The Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Mouse 3600 is our new portable pick for the best wireless mouse. Kimber Streams wrote, "The Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Mouse 3600 is compact without sacrificing hand support—great for travel and for smaller hands."
DJI Phantom 3 Advanced Quadcopter
Street Price: $980; MSRP: $1000; Deal Price: $800
The DJI quadcopters don't see a lot of sales, especially considering the Phantom 3 Advanced hasn't even been out for a year yet. You can find the same deal from Adorama and B&H right now. There are actually three different models on sale, which you can see more about over at SlickDeals.
The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced is our pick for the best drone for aerial photographers and videographers. Mike Perlman and Eric Hansen said, "we believe that the Advanced is the best choice for most people—that is, those who have no need to produce 4K video, who lack computer hardware that can handle editing that format, or who don't have demanding shooting schedules that require constant battery swaps."
Deals change all the time, and some of these may have expired. To see an updated list of current deals, please go to The Wirecutter.com.
