Cellebrite once again reported to have helped FBI crack San Bernardino iPhone

*Israeli firm Cellebrite is once again reported to be the company that worked with the FBI in unlocking the iPhone 5c that at the center of the encryption dispute between Apple and the FBI. From Bloomberg: The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation worked with Israel's Cellebrite Mobile Synchronization Ltd. to crack the iPhone used in the shooting last year in San Bernardino, California, according to people familiar with the matter. This seems to corroborate a separate, earlier report that also pointed to Cellebrite, which develops mobile forensics software for law enforcement and other government agencies, as the unnamed third-party behind the undisclosed unlock method. The FBI reported earlier this week that it had successfully leveraged recovered the data it was after from the iPhone 5c used by one of San Bernardino shooters, bringing an end to a month-long legal battle between the two parties.
