*British astronaut Tim Peake is currently aboard the International Space Station, but that didn't prevent him from joining tens of thousands of runners in the London Marathon. Using an iPad to simulate his run across the course of the London Marathon, Peake took part in a digital version of the race, finishing in three hours, 35 minutes and 21 seconds. In that time, the International Space Station circled the planet twice. Peake isn't the first to run a marathon in space, as astronaut Sunita Williams ran along with the Boston marathon in 2007, completing it in 4 hours and 24 minutes. Peake was running while strapped to a treadmill, following along with the rest of the runners on an iPad that screened live images of the course adjusted to his pace. .@astro_timpeake has finished his #LondonMarathon in space!
