Most of us get our food from supermarkets. Some of us try to go organic and natural and cage free and all those other positive buzzwords people use to feel good about themselves but there are very few of us who still hunt for our food. These guys do. And they're not ashamed of it. Here's why.
It's become common practice to question people who hunt animals. Like they shouldn't be proud to kill animals for food, like they're all a bunch of uneducated thrill seekers. But hearing these hunters talk, that couldn't be further from the truth. They're respectful and considerate. Here's hunter Donnie Vincent explaining why he hunts:
"Don't confuse me with being anything else other than proud. Proud to be a hunter. It's time we stop apologizing for how we get our protein. This is who we are. Unless you're a small time rancher, small time farmer, a hunter or fishermen... you really have no idea where your food comes from. Most people don't even think about it. Well, we think about it. "
Hunting isn't just a game to these people.
